Brussels: The EU’s European High-Performance Computing Partnership Initiative (Euro HPC) has announced the establishment of six new artificial intelligence (AI) factories in Czechia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and Spain. This move aims to enhance the AI infrastructure across Europe and drive innovation through an interconnected network of AI hubs.

According to Philippines News Agency, the newly selected AI factories will join 13 previously established sites, forming a comprehensive network designed to support AI development. These factories will serve as single-point services nationwide, providing extensive support to European AI startups, small and medium enterprises, and researchers.

The expansion includes an AI Factory in Spain, featuring an experimental platform for developing and testing AI models and applications. This platform will also promote collaboration across Europe, fostering a robust ecosystem for AI innovation.

The initiative is backed by an investment exceeding £500 million ($578.6 million) from the EU and its member states. This funding aims to boost Europe’s high-performance computing capacity and accelerate AI integration in critical sectors, strengthening Europe’s position as a leader in artificial intelligence.
