Davao: The Kadayawan Floriculture Agri Trade Fair not only showcases beauty but also supports livelihood and tourism as part of the monthlong Kadayawan Festival, the Department of Agriculture in the Davao Region (DA-11) said Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the fair is organized by the Floriculture Industry of Davao, Inc. (FIDI) in partnership with the Davao City Agriculture Office and DA-11. It highlights the bounty of nature, the richness of culture, and the resilience of Dabawenyos. DA-11 Director Macario Gonzaga emphasized that flowers can also serve as a source of income. He stated, "Flowers are more than decorations; they support the environment. Let this (trade fair) be a space where ideas blossom, partnerships develop, and a shared vision for a vibrant, sustainable, and floriculture-driven Davao."

Located along the Davao Coastal Road, the Kadayawan Floriculture Agri Trade Fair welcomes visitors to a display of flowers, plants, and pure festival joy. Gonzaga also pledged full support for programs and partnerships that empower growers, agripreneurs, and local producers. He added, "Through initiatives in urban agriculture, agribusiness, and market development, we aim to make agriculture more inclusive, profitable, and resilient to the challenges of our times."

Meanwhile, Evelyn Lavi±a, the FIDI president, noted that in addition to celebrating beauty, the event has a mission: to help revitalize the floriculture industry, which has faced challenges in recent years. She remarked, "Every plant purchased directly supports local growers and their families, making each bouquet or potted plant a gift of hope."
