Culture Community Enters Vientiane Railway Station on the Laos – China Railway – More than 20 Advanced Rail Train Systems Make Their Debut in Laos

On June 20, the Culture Community jointly established by CRRC Corporation Limited and Laos-China Railway Company Limited is officially unveiled at Vientiane railway station on the Laos-China Railway.

The Culture Community will be exhibited at Vientiane railway station for 30 days. More than 20 advanced rail trains made by CRRC will be unveiled in Laos for the first time, bringing a wonderful feast of train technologies to tourists.

Tian Xuehua jointly unveils the Culture Community on the Laos – China Railway.

The moment was witnessed by passengers on site as well as fans and friends from Laos and Thailand.

In the waiting hall of Vientiane railway station on the Laos – China Railway, a huge model wall measuring 12 metres long and more than 3 metres high is particularly eye-catching.

More than 20 advanced rail trains are unveiled at the Culture Community on the same day. These trains range from high-speed rail EMUs and high-speed magnetic levitation trains to urban rail transit vehicles with speed varying from 60km/h to 600km/h, such as the Lancang EMU of the Laos – China Railway, the EMU of high-speed railway in Indonesia, the fastest large-scale ground transportation vehicle – high speed magnetic levitation train with a speed of 600km/h, the Fuxing EMU with the highest commercial operation speed of 350 km/h in the world, fully automated metro trains, intercity intelligent trains, and “air train”. This is also the first time that CRRC’s serialized rail transit equipment has been intensively displayed in Laos.

Vilaykham Phosalath, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport of Laos, said that the opening of the Laos – China Railway has ushered Laos into an era of motor coaches. The fleeting Lancang EMUs have now become a national “business card” of Laos, injecting strong impetus into the economic and social development of Laos and China. The Lancang EMUs are a symbol of friendship between Laos and China.

CRRC held a train culture exhibition at Vientiane Station to showcase the world’s advanced rail train manufacturing technology. The Lao people can experience advanced rail train technology and railway culture at close range. He hoped that the Laos – China Railway would flourish and more Chinese enterprises could give full play to their technical and management advantages to participate in the railway development of Laos.

At the exhibition site of “Train Culture Station”, the dazzling array of rail trains has attracted a large number of passengers and vehicle enthusiasts to stop and watch. They take photos in front of the train model and experience the charm of train technologies.

“I feel so impressive to see so many advanced rail trains for the first time.” A senior student at the National University of Laos Rashi Tamaonsa said that the variety of rail trains exhibited at the Culture Community is much modernized and eye-opening, and he hoped to learn more about rail train culture.

Qiu Wenbin is a railway fan, who makes a special trip from Thailand to Vientiane railway station on the same day to visit the Culture Community. He said, “I have traveled multiple times on the Lancang in Laos, and the train facilities are very modern. The compartments are very comfortable, which left a deep impression on me. I hope our country will also have a modern railway soon.”

The Lancang EMUs are designed and manufactured by CRRC with the organization of Laos – China Railway. It is customized to suit the natural environment, line conditions, and local culture of the railway in Laos, and the maximum running speed is 160km/h. The train boasts advanced technology, safety and reliability features, large passenger capacity, and comfortable riding experience.

“The Lancang EMUs have been running for more than one year, and are deeply loved by Lao people due to its advantages of safety, high speed, cleanliness and comfort. It has become the first choice for people to travel. Up to now, the Lancang EMUs on Laos – China Railway have safely run for 563 days and transported more than 2.63 million passengers,” said Vongthong Suphanthong, Deputy Chief Engineer of Laos-China Railway.

Wang An, Executive Director of CRRC, said that Lancang EMUs are the crystallization of friendly cooperation between China and Laos. He hoped to take “Culture Community” as a link to better showcase the achievements of China-Laos cooperation, attract more people to understand rail transit products and railway culture, and enhance exchanges and friendship between the two peoples.
