Cop killed, 2 hurt in Taguig police station shooting

A police officer was shot dead by his colleague inside a police station in Taguig City on Monday. City chief of police Col. Robert Baesa said the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. inside the Community Affairs Section of the Taguig City Police Station. Initial investigation showed that Chief Master Sgt. Alraquib Aguel engaged Executive Master Sgt. Heriberto Saguiped in a discussion that resulted in a heated argument. Aguel later shot Saguiped which resulted in his death. Cpl. Alison Sindac, who tried to pacify the situation, was also critically injured due to the incident while Aguel was also hurt. They were rushed to the Taguig Medical Center for treatment. “Nagkaroon ng hindi pagkakaintindihan tapos nag-amok yung isang pulis si Sgt. Aguel nag-amok. Nakikita namin sa imbestigasyon hindi naman personal nagkaroon lang pagtatalo (There was a misunderstanding and then Sgt. Aguel run amok. We saw in the investigation that the root of the discussion was not personal. There was a just a heated argument),” Baesa said told PNA in a phone interview.
