Xayaboury: Mr. Vu Ngoc Ly, Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Northern Laos, led a delegation to the Xayaboury Provincial Administration Office on January 24, 2026, to extend New Year greetings for the International New Year 2026. The visit was marked by discussions aimed at reinforcing the ties between the two regions.
According to Lao News Agency, the delegation was received by Mr. Phengnilan Khamphanpheng, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Xayaboury Provincial People's Council, along with senior provincial officials. Mr. Vu Ngoc Ly extended his best wishes to the newly elected Provincial Party Committee and provincial leaders, hoping for their success and wellbeing, as well as the happiness of their families. He expressed confidence in the leadership's ability to implement the resolutions of the Provincial Party Congress effectively.
The Consul General acknowledged the support provided by the provincial authorities to Vietnamese citizens and businesses in Xayaboury. He highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the province and various localities in Vietnam, anticipating further deepening of these ties.
In response, Mr. Phengnilan Khamphanpheng conveyed gratitude for the Consul General's support and attention towards the province. He emphasized the commitment of Xayaboury to enhance cooperation with Vietnam, focusing on attracting Vietnamese investment, strengthening collaboration with sister provinces, and ensuring the successful execution of joint projects across several sectors.
