Doctors and nurses from China and Laos will provide free-of-charge cataract surgery at 103 Military Hospital in Vientiane from August 7 to September 15, 2023.
The procedures are being performed under the China-Laos Friendship Cataract Surgery Programme, with support from China’s GX Foundation.
Providing access to eye care, which reduces the magnitude of avoidable blindness, is part of the obligation under the right to the highest attainable standard of health.
