DAVAO CITY: The Commission on Higher Education in Davao Region (CHED-11) will promote access to and equity in education as part of its thrust, an official said Friday.
During the kickoff ceremony of CHED’s 30th anniversary and the 4th Higher Education Week, Dr. Christopher Pio Pulido, the CHED-11 supervising education program specialist, said they are driven to continuously improve their services to tertiary and graduate school levels.
“Providing access and equity to education should allow the students in state universities to be scholars and study for free, not only at state universities but even at local universities and colleges,” he said in an interview.
CHED-11 will present its strategic plans until 2028 to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. next week.
“We will also present to him the success of CHED and the higher education sector for the past 30 years,” Pulido said.
The plan of action includes sustaining quality and excellence, internationalization efforts, corporate social responsibility, and inte
rnal capacity as an institution.
“Hopefully, towards the last week of May, CHED will launch series two of our RankEd Program to improve the provision of quality and excellence of education,” Pulido added.
The CHED-11 RankEd program aims to support the Commission’s Strategic Plan 2023-2028, which prioritizes capacity-building training for administrators and staff of tertiary schools, forging partnerships with significant stakeholders, and maintenance of quality and excellence in the region’s higher education institutions.
