Cebu Pacific to resume Iloilo-HK flights in October

MANILA: Gokongwei-led airline Cebu Pacific (CEB) will resume direct services between Hong Kong and Iloilo beginning October 27.

The airline had to halt this route in March 2020 because of the pandemic.

“With the resumption of flights to Hong Kong, CEB will be the only airline to operate international flights from Iloilo,’ CEB chief marketing and customer experience officer Candice Iyog said in a statement Monday.

‘We hope this will also make air travel even more affordable and accessible for a wider range of passengers in the Visayas region,’ she said.

Four weekly flights will operate from the Iloilo International Airport –every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. From Hong Kong, flights bound for Iloilo will be every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The direct route will enable passengers to reach their destinations in less than three hours, compared to up to 12 hours when they book connecting flights with layovers from Manila.

Meanwhile, the airline offers as low as PHP1 base fare (exclusiv
e of fees and surcharges) for domestic and international flights from July 26 to 31.

This is for the travel period from Oct. 27, 2024 to March 29, 2025.

The low-cost airline currently flies 35 domestic and 25 international flights.

Expansion plans have been announced for services via Manila, Clark and Davao.
