Bokeo: The Labour Skills Training Centre under the Department of Labour and Social Welfare of Bokeo Province has received IT equipment valued at $64,405 from the Skills Development Institute of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare.
According to Lao News Agency, the handover ceremony took place on April 2, 2025, at the Bokeo Provincial Department of Labour and Social Welfare. The equipment was formally presented by Mr. Soulisack Souphanthong, Deputy Director of the Skills Development Institute, and received by Mr. Khamthone Phanthanith, Deputy Director of the Bokeo Provincial Labour and Social Welfare Department.
The event witnessed the attendance of representatives from relevant departments, the Labour Skills Development Institute, and other officials. The donated IT equipment includes desktop computers, laptops, 4G mobile hotspot devices, UPS units, data BIOS devices, CPUs, SSD external hard drives, 500GB internal hard drives, printers, and projectors.
This equipment aims to enhance vocational training programs at the Labour Skills Training Centre, providing disadvantaged individuals and unemployed youth with basic IT skills and professional training. By focusing on digital literacy and technical capabilities, the centre aims to empower young individuals to secure stable employment and break the cycle of joblessness.
