COTABATO CITY: Two service-oriented offices in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for a PHP72.5 million technology-based data gathering system to ensure accuracy in identifying social services beneficiaries.
On Wednesday, both the Ministry of Social Services and Development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MSSD-BARMM) and the Philippine Statistics Authority-BARMM agreed to push through with the implementation of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) for the initiative.
Through the CBMS, household data of social service beneficiaries are made more reliable and accurate.
MSSD Minister Raissa Jajurie led the ceremonial MOA signing and turnover of checks, along with PSA-BARMM Regional Director Akan Tula, among others.

She said the PSA’s collection of household data, translated into figures and numbers, will provide MSSD with detailed information to identify priority beneficiaries and determine areas where government services are most needed.
‘The PHP72.5 million could be a good investment [for PSA] to have access to actual household data. Similarly, local government units [LGUs] will need this data as, in the next five years, social welfare and services will be devolved to the LGUs,’ Jajurie said.
The CBMS is an organized technology-based system for collecting, processing, and validating data that can be used for local planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring while also empowering communities to participate in the process.
