Bacolod cops seize P4.3-M shabu, arrest 9

BACOLOD CITY: The police seized PHP4.3 million in suspected shabu and arrested nine individuals in various operations in this city the past three days, according to a report released Monday.

Around 2 a.m. on Sunday, an estimated 255 grams of shabu valued at PHP1.734 million were recovered from two suspects during a buy-bust in Barangay Singcang-Airport by agents of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-Western Visayas.

Nabbed were two suspects aged 54 and 39, who were previously jailed for a similar offense.

‘I have warned them to stop their illegal activity but they refused to listen,’ village chief Caesar Distrito, who witnessed the operation at the suspects’ residence in Purok Uno Sisi, told the media.

In Barangay Tangub, about 300 grams of shabu worth PHP2.04 million were seized from three suspects in Purok Roadside on Saturday night.

Lt. Col. Antonio, chief of the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit, said in an interview that agents have been
monitoring the trio for the past two weeks.

Meanwhile, four other anti-illegal drug operations led to the confiscation of 79.5 grams of shabu worth PHP540,600 on Friday.
