The National Steering Committee on Preparation and Implementation of ASEAN Chairmanship of the Lao PDR 2024 met in Vientiane on August 10.
Chaired by Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone who is also Head of the National Steering Committee, the meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and organisations.
The national committee reviewed preparations made with respect to the content of key documents, accommodation and vehicles for state and government leaders, meeting venues, meeting equipment, personnel and budget preparation.
The meeting also discussed slogan and logo of ASEAN Chair 2024 and a short video on Laos resumption of ASEAN Chairmanship which will screened when Laos receives ASEAN flag from Indonesia on the sidelines of 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits in Jakarta early next month.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone called on relevant authorities to continue to implement their preparatory activities especially those on content of key documents, logistics, to ensure the success of the ASEAN Summit and related summits.
