Laos Celebrates Boun Ork Phansa, Concluding Buddhist Lent

Vientiane:Laos is currently observing Boun Ork Phansa, a significant festival that marks the end of the Buddhist Lent. This festival plays a vital role in Lao religious and cultural traditions, specifically under Heet 12 Khong 14. During this time, devotees engage in various activities such as visiting temples to offer food to monks, making merit, chanting prayers, and observing the Five Precepts.

According to Lao News Agency, traditional celebrations of Boun Ork Phansa often feature candlelight processions, lantern displays, and illuminated fireboats along designated riverbanks. In addition, many communities participate in cleaning temple grounds and public spaces as part of the festivities.
