Vietnam-Laos Ties Deemed Invaluable Asset by Lao Ambassador to Russia


Vientiane: Lao Ambassador to Russia Shiphandone Oybuabuddy has affirmed that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam are an invaluable asset, cherished, safeguarded, and developed by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

According to Lao News Agency, Ambassador Shiphandone Oybuabuddy visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow on September 15 to extend congratulations on Vietnam’s 81st National Day, commemorating the nation’s founding on September 2, 1945. The diplomat highlighted the tradition of the Lao Embassy in Russia visiting the Vietnamese Embassy annually to mark this significant date.

During the visit, Ambassador Shiphandone expressed hope that the two countries would continue to maintain close coordination and support in diplomatic activities within Russia. On this occasion, Ambassador Khoi briefed the Lao side on the recent successful state visit by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam to Russia from September 7-9. He noted that the visit achieved comprehensive and substantive results across all areas, including the signing of a joint statement and several important cooperation documents. These developments not only strengthened the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership but also opened up new and potentially transformative areas of cooperation, further affirming Vietnam’s international position and providing fresh impetus for regional stability and shared development.
