Prime Minister Urges Enhanced Development Initiatives in Kadane Subdistrict

Vientiane: Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has called for stronger efforts to improve security, strengthen rural development, and raise living standards during a visit to Kadane Subdistrict, Khong District, Champasak Province. According to Lao News Agency, the Prime Minister, who is also a National Assembly member for Constituency No. 15, engaged with local Party and government officials, security forces, and residents to assess the subdistrict's socio-economic development and public administration. He praised local authorities for maintaining peace and stability while advancing in various sectors such as agricultural production, revenue collection, infrastructure development, electricity, education, healthcare, and tourism. Sonexay emphasized the importance of enhancing political awareness and national unity among local officials, urging them to remain vigilant against any activities that could threaten social stability. He highlighted the need for stronger border security and increased efforts to combat drug trafficking, social ills, illegal logging, deforestation, and illegal mining. The Prime Minister encouraged the expansion of commercial agriculture and livestock production in alignment with the government's self-reliance policy. He stressed the importance of continued poverty reduction, improved village development funds, better land management, and the promotion of tourism linked to One District, One Product (ODOP) initiatives. Addressing educational and healthcare challenges, Sonexay called for efforts to reduce school dropout rates, ensure adequate teacher deployment, improve healthcare services and vaccination coverage, and strengthen flood preparedness along the Mekong River. He also urged the upgrading of public information systems and enhancement of government services through the One-Stop Service mechanism. Sonexay expressed confidence in the collaboration between local authorities and residents to transform Kadane into a stable, prosperous, and sustainable community.
