Russia Eyes Boost in Exports to Laos: Economic Development Minister

Moscow: Russia has expressed a keen interest in increasing its exports of food, mineral fertilizers, and engineering products to Laos, as announced by the Russian government on its official Max account. This development follows bilateral discussions aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

According to Lao News Agency, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov stated that Russia is prepared to import more rubber, coffee, and textiles from Laos. Reshetnikov also emphasized Laos as a promising partner for the development of humanitarian relations and tourism.

The talks between the two countries highlighted Laos's significant reserves of bauxite, a key resource for Russia's aluminum industry. Both parties acknowledged the importance of these reserves and discussed the potential launch of direct flights to facilitate further cooperation.
