Ho chi minh city: Mr Alounxay Sounnalath, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Executive Committee, together with provincial leaders, met on 3 December with Mr Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, Head of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, during his official visit to Champasak Province.
According to Lao News Agency, the discussions centered on the enduring solidarity and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. Mr Alounxay highlighted Champasak's geographic advantages, socio-economic development, and future potential, with a particular focus on modernized agriculture, tourism, and transport and logistics.
Mr Nguyen Xuan Thang commended the Champasak Provincial Party Committee for its achievements in key sectors. He noted that the visit was an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the province's development efforts and to reaffirm the strong ties between the two countries, especially with Champasak Province.
He reiterated Vietnam's commitment to boosting collaboration in tourism development, agricultural production for export, infrastructure construction, cross-border trade, enterprise support, and the promotion of Champasak's unique products to enhance tourism.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs, emphasizing the lasting friendship and special solidarity between Laos and Vietnam.
