Manila: The Philippine Embassy in The Hague has officially launched the Philippine electronic visa (e-Visa) system in the Netherlands, enhancing the visa application process for Dutch residents and other eligible individuals planning short-term visits to the Philippines.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Embassy announced that travelers can now submit their e-Visa applications online via the official portal evisa.gov.ph. The process includes secure payment of the necessary fees through direct bank transfers. Successful applicants will receive approved e-Visas that can be accessed remotely and presented either digitally or in printed form, eliminating the traditional requirement of visa stickers on passports.
The Embassy has specified that these e-Visas are strictly for temporary stays and cannot be converted into other visa categories. Additionally, the authorized duration of stay is non-extendable. Individuals intending to visit the Philippines for purposes such as studies, employment, or non-tourism activities must apply for a regular visa sticker at the Embassy.
To facilitate a seamless entry into the Philippines, e-Visa holders are reminded to complete the online Philippine e-Travel registration form via etravel.gov.ph post-visa issuance and within 72 hours prior to departure. The Embassy highlighted that this new system aims to streamline visa processing, thus promoting convenience for travelers and contributing to the growth of the Philippines' tourism and economy.
