Nanning: The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) is set to take place in Nanning, Guangxi, from September 17 to 21, under the theme "Smart Development, Innovation to Lead the Future - Building a Community of Common Destiny with the New Opportunities of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) Version 3.0."
According to Lao News Agency, Wei Zhaohui, Secretary-General of the CAEXPO Secretariat and Director of Guangxi International Expo Affairs, provided insights in an interview with ASEAN media on August 27, 2025. A significant feature of this year's expo is a 10,000-square-meter Artificial Intelligence (AI) pavilion, where over 100 leading enterprises, unicorns, and startups will display innovative technologies. Each participating nation will also showcase high-tech products, service industries, bulk commodities, and specialty goods.
Wei highlighted that this year, a number of ASEAN companies specializing in AI will participate in the expo. There will be exhibition zones dedicated to new energy, smart transportation, and intelligent equipment, featuring the latest AI-enabled applications.
Additionally, the 22nd CAEXPO will encompass a broad range of sectors, including the digital economy, green economy, supply chain connectivity, standards and technical regulations, conformity assessment procedures, customs and trade facilitation, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, competition and consumer protection, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and economic and technological cooperation.
