Phnom Penh: Cambodia will file a complaint tomorrow with the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, over four disputed border areas with Thailand, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced last night.
According to Nam News Network, the four sensitive border areas in question are Mom Bei, Ta Moan Thom Temple, Ta Moan Tauch Temple, and Ta Krabei Temple. Mom Bei, also known as the Emerald Triangle, is a region that borders Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos.
The decision to file the complaint follows a brief exchange of gunfire between soldiers from both countries at the Emerald Triangle on May 28, which resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier.
