Manila: The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has successfully apprehended 1,296 wanted individuals, including nine of the most wanted persons, through intensified anti-crime operations across Metro Manila in April.

According to Philippines News Agency, NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin revealed that among those arrested, 528 are classified as 'city and municipal' most wanted persons, while the remaining 768 fall under the category of 'other wanted persons.' The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported 297 arrests, leading in numbers, followed by the Southern Police District (SPD) with 282 arrests, the Manila Police District (MPD) with 273, the Northern Police District (NPD) with 247, and the Eastern Police District (EPD) with 197 arrests.

Aberin emphasized the significance of these figures, highlighting the NCRPO's operational momentum and its persistent efforts to deliver justice. He noted that many of the suspects were involved in high-profile and often non-bailable offenses and were apprehended through strategic manhunt operations and effective inter-unit coordination.

The majority of those arrested had been fugitives for extended periods, facing charges that include rape, murder, and robbery. Aberin also noted the arrest of eight of the 10 newly-listed wanted persons in Metro Manila for May as a major achievement, underscoring NCRPO's commitment to removing serious offenders from communities to prevent further harm.
