Laos has logged 916 new cases and seven new deaths attributed to Covid-19 over the past twenty four hours, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
The new infections have raised the total to 121,436 including 7,367 active cases and 464 deaths.
Deputy Director General of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health Dr Sisavath Soutthanilaxay told a press conference today that 908 out of the new infections were classified as domestic infections.
Vientiane reported 309 new cases, Oudomxay documented 86, Xayaboury logged 82, Phongsaly recorded 76 and Huaphan posted 63. Meanwhile, Xiang Khuang logged 39, Bokeo posted 38, Vientiane (province) reported 33 and Luang Prabang documented 32 cases.
Some 771 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide yesterday, according to the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health.
