The National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control has recorded 305 new cases of Covid-19 over the previous 24 hours including 20 local infections – seven in Vientiane, six in Bokeo, five in Champassak, and one each in Savannakhet and Xekong, respectively.
The imported cases, detected among returning workers form neighbouring countries, were reported in Vientiane (129 cases), Savannakhet 66, Champassak 56, Khammuan 19, Saravan 13, Bokeo 1 and Borikhamxay 1.
Laos has logged 9,668 cases of Covid-19 including 4,108 active cases and nine deaths since March 2020.
Regionally
Thailand recorded over 22,000 cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours as Vietnam and Myanmar documented 9,667 and 3,430 cases respectively. Vietnam also recorded 326 deaths, the highest daily number in the region.
Some 455 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in Cambodia.
