Some 282 new Covid-19 cases and five new deaths attributed to Covid-19 have been reported nationwide over the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 136,720 including 574 deaths and 4,014 active cases.
Of the new confirmed cases, 277 were classified as domestic infections and five as imported cases, according to Director General of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control, Ministry of Health, Dr Rattanaxay Phetsouvanh.
The domestic infections included 79 reported in Huaphan, 48 in Vientiane, 40 in Xaysomboun, 18 in Savannakhet and 14 in Borikhamxay.
Meanwhile, 13 cases were reported in Xayaboury, 12 were documented in Attapeu and 11 were logged in Xieng Khuang.
Yesterday witnessed 529 Covid-19 patients discharged from hospitals nationwide.
