ILOILO CITY: Two high-value individuals with 1,170 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP7.956 million were arrested during a buy-bust in Barangay Malipayon-Delgado here Wednesday night.
The operation, led by Capt. Glenn Soliman of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU), arrested alias Erwin, 22, of Barangay Baldoza and one ‘Pirot’ of Barangay Ingore, both of La Paz District.
‘This is a big help in our efforts to prevent the entry of illegal drugs possibly for use in the city during the Dinagyang Festival,’ Soliman said in an interview.
Soliman said the two suspects, who work as warehouse caretakers, declined to name their sources.
They use a car to deliver illegal drugs to their patrons.
Undercover agents transacted for PHP80,000 worth of shabu and also found additional stocks in the front passenger seat of the blue sedan.
Additional recoveries included 22 plastic sachets and 14 pieces of transparent plastic bags containing the suspected illegal substance, PHP1,500, and other non-drug items.

e suspects are in the custody of the Iloilo City Police Station 1 pending the filing of a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
‘They have no arrest record per our initial inquiry, but we will conduct confirmation. We will have their criminal records checked,’ Soliman added.
