10 PNP informants get P1.9M reward for arrest of most wanted persons

MANILA: A total of 10 informants will split the PHP1.9 million reward from the Philippine National Police (PNP) for providing information that led to the arrest of 11 most wanted criminals.

The informants received the reward in simple rites at the PNP Intelligence Training Group in Camp Crame on Thursday.

In a statement, PNP director for intelligence Brig. Gen. Westrimundo Obinque said the information provided by the tipsters resulted in the capture of fugitives involved in serious crimes such as murder, rape, robbery and carnapping.

This initiative demonstrates the PNP’s dedication to collaborating with citizens to ensure the safety and security of the nation, he added.

Obinque said the ceremony not only recognized the bravery of the informants but also underscored the essential role each individual plays in upholding law and order, creating a safer environment for all Filipinos.

PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, meanwhile, highlighted the importance of community participation in combating crimina
l activities.

‘Granting of monetary reward to persons (except government employees) who are instrumental to the arrest/neutralization of most wanted persons is one of the programs of the Philippine National Police which serves as an effective way of encouraging the community’s participation in addressing security-related threats and criminality in the country,’ Marbil said.
